Jibri Easter: WWI was a different type of war because it was on a global scale and was the first time new types of warfare were used. For example, they used poison gas and machine guns. This was the first form of modern warfare.
Excellent comment Jibri! This was the first time that there was a truely global conflict. Soldiers from every continent (except Antartica or course) were all involved in the war.
New weapons like the machine gun and dynamite contributed to huge casualties. Earlier conflicts would have casualties in the thousands perhaps, but WWI saw nine million dead.

WWI was different from previous wars in ways which WWI used new weapons and used updated machines. The amount of resource and technology supplies and strategies also helped to make this war a different from previous wars we have studied.

WW1 was a different type of war because they used machine guns poison gas,tanks, submarines. Trench warfare- troops dug along the battle front to aviod bombs and machine gun fire.
